MARY (PHAYRE) TRAMONTE – in Woburn, September 13th, at fifty years of age. Beloved wife of Robert Tramonte, Jr. Loving and devoted mother of Lauren and Rachel Tramonte,of Woburn. Cherished sister of William Phayre,his wife Arlene of NJ, Steven Phayre,his wife Nancy of NY, Jim Phayre,his wife Jane of Berlin, MA, Kevin Phayre,his wife Terry, John Phayre, Scott Phayre and Laura Phayre Abbott, all of FL and Sean Phayre of NY. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews and many friends. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday, September 20th, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call Monday, September 19th, from 4– 8 p.m. Please, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Mary’s memory to the Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785.

OBITUARY:

MARY (PHAYRE) TRAMONTE, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 13th, at fifty years of age. Mary was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Tramonte Jr.

Born in Westwood, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Holland) Phayre. Mary spent her childhood years growing up in New Jersey. In her high school years Mary‘s family had moved to Ithaca, NY where Mary continued her high school education graduating from Ithaca High School along with the Class of 1983.

On to Boston College following High School. Mary’s focus was on education. Four years later she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and continued on at Boston University, receiving her Masters Degree in Education from Boston University, then yet another from U Mass Lowell both degrees were in the field of Education.

In 2000 Mary, and the long time love of her life Bob Tramonte Jr., began their journey together as husband and wife. They made their home in the West Side, and were blessed with two lovely daughters Lauren and Rachel, who were the absolute center of their lives.

Mary had worked for a while as a substitute teacher in the Woburn Schools and when the children arrived Mary remained home dedicating herself to them.

As the children grew, and began school, Mary started volunteering at the Hurld School, doing whatever she could in the school to help out. Mary was also a very active participant in the Hurld PTO, again joining in to do as much as she could to assist the school in fundraising, orchestrating and organizing the many different activities at the Hurld; she also spent time helping out the March of Dimes.

Over the past decade Mary and Rob had enjoyed travelling to different destinations. But with their children they spent their vacation time at all the major amusement parks up and down the east coast from Florida all the way to Canada.

  5. Dear Tramonte Family, I send my deepest sympathy to all of you. I only knew Mary for a short while as we did substitute work together in the Lexington Public Schools. She was an amazing and talented teacher. She spoke a lot about her loving family. We will miss Mary a great deal, but we will never forget her.
