OBITUARY:

Judith A. “Judy” (D’Arcangelo) Costa passed away at the Winchester Hospital Thursday, August 18th, after a brief illness. Wife of the late Joseph Leonard Mistretta she was sixty-two years of age.

Born in Revere she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Esther (McCauley) D’Arcangelo. Judy’s family moved to Woburn at an early age where she was raised and educated in the Woburn School’s graduating with the Class of 1971.

Judy loved to travel throughout her lifetime. Always on the road, and traveling on a motorcycle she and her friends would venture off to many different parts of New England. Although in her younger years she would take extended stays on both coasts of the United States enjoying the beaches of Florida and California!

Judy brought her dear daughter Lisa into the world to whom she was extremely devoted. They have remained very close over the years , and when Lisa brought her dear children into the world, Judy was thrilled to be a grandmother. She just loved spending time with them.

A fun loving person, Judy would take long rides up the coast of Maine, always finding her way back home! Judy never like to miss Motorcycle week at Weirs Beach, NH, with all her friends. When it came time for the Daytona Beach gathering in Florida, again she and her friends would all cycle down to that venue, where they would catch up with old friends they have met over the years.

In her later years Judy devoted most of her spare time to her grandchildren. Judy throughout her life time was truly a free spirit, going, doing and enjoying all those wonderful gifts she found throughout her life..

Sadly Judy was predeceased by her parents and husband Joseph Mistretta.

She was the devoted mother of Lisa (D’Arcangelo) Connors and her husband Paul of Woburn. Dear sister of Susan Mary Pettipas of Woburn. Cherished grandmother of Samantha Evans and her husband Brady of FL, Sabrina Pike and Paul “Paulie” Connors, both of Woburn. Also survived by 2 great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
