OBITUARY:

Marilyn R. (Fleming) Fedele passed away at her home amongst her beloved family Tuesday evening, June 28th. Devoted wife of the late Cosmo John Fedele, she was eighty three years of age.

Born at home in Wakefield, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Grace (Young) Fleming.

Raised and educated in Wakefield she was a graduate of Wakefield High School along with the Class of 1951. After high school Marilyn was out for an evening of dancing and fun with friends at Mosley’s on the Charles. It was there she had the good fortune that evening to be introduced to a gentleman named Cosmo with whom she shared several dances with. That was the beginning of a life long relationship that spanned over forty seven years and brought six lovingly devoted children into the world.

When they married in 1955 they had moved to Somerville, where they lived over the Fedele Family Fish Market, where Cosmo’s parents lived and worked. Two years later they moved to the “countryside” right here in the West Side of Woburn! They nestled right in and there they remained over the years. They raised their children supporting them in all of their sporting and academic ventures. Throughout those years they would enjoy summer vacations on the Cape. One car, six children, two adults and groceries for the week, they had a ball!

As the family grew and grandchildren began arriving “Mom” became “Nana Bud!” Nana Bud provided all the child care necessary for her dear grandchildren over the years, having shared some truly wonderful relationships with each of them. In her “spare time” knitting each of her grandchildren all their own personalized Christmas stockings, lap blankets, afghans , right down to their own pair of knit socks! Always compfy and warm.

A fiercely loyal and independent woman, she was there for all. Always organized, disciplined, feisty and attentive to each and every family member. Their home was the center of all familial happenings, holidays, birthdays and any other special times that were celebrated. And right up to the end “Nana Bud” remained that same wonderful woman she had been throughout her lifetime.

Marilyn sadly was pre deceased by her beloved husband Cosmo John Fedele for 48 years.

She was the lovingly devoted mother Francis Fedele, his wife Janet of Sandwich, Rosalyn Fedele of Woburn, Lori Fedel, her husband Simon Murphy of Sandwich, Debra Sullivan, her husband Neil of Melrose, Mark Fedele, his wife Sherri of Clinton and Julie Fedele-MacDonald, her husband William of Andover. “Nana Bud” to eleven grandchildren; Michael, Katie, Max, Quinn, Sheila, Luc, Carly, Alicia, Tanner, Valerie and Bo. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Saturday, July 2nd at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 11:30 a.m..
