OBITUARY:

Anita Maria (Cescut) Mayo passed away at her home amongst her beloved family Saturday, June 4th, after a lengthy illness. The loving wife of the late of Lawrence J. Mayo, she was eighty seven years of age.

Born in Aviano, Italy she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Domenico Cescut. One of four children, Anita was raised and educated in Italy where she remained until she was thirty two years of age. Anita met Lawrence while in Italy and after they married they boarded a ship to America. They made their home in Woburn forty four years ago, where they have remained. Bringing three sons into the world kept Anita very busy! Family is what Anita’s life was all about. Their needs came first throughout her life.

Her talents in the kitchen were phenomenal. She made homemade pasta which was then magically turned into fabulous lasagnas and gnocchi. Her homemade gravy was always to the many different dishes Anita would make. As much as she enjoyed making it, her family enjoyed it more.

A real sports fan, Anita was fanatical about making sure she saw each and every game for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. Going to the beach for solace or to Bingo for fun, she was always enjoying whatever she was doing.

A very quiet and unassuming woman, Anita had a great love of family and felt particularly blessed by her three grandchildren, who brought her much joy.

Sadly Anita was predeceased by her parents and husband, Lawrence Mayo.

She was the loving mother of Robert F. Mayo of Woburn, Thomas Mayo and his wife Jennifer of Littleton and David P. Mayo of Woburn. Dear sister of Giovanni Cescut, Elena Bonassi and Cecilia Lenza. Devoted grandmother of Ryan, Morgan and Tyler. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, June 8th from 11 a.m.-noon followed by a Graveside Service in Woodbrook Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.
