OBITUARY:

Mary L. (Bond) Carney passed away unexpectedly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Saturday, May twentieth after being stricken at friend’s home. The beloved wife of Colin Carney, she was fifty nine years of age.

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Theresa (Cullen) Bond. One of seven children, Mary was raised and educated here in Woburn. Following high school Mary began working at Kmart and it was there that she was introduced to Colin. A relationship ensued and in 1977, they were married, having just celebrated thirty nine years of marriage just last week.

They brought three sons into the world, who all kept Mary very busy. During the summers they would go to All Seasons Campground where they have continued to go over the years and now they bring their grandchildren. They all just have a ball. Harley Davidsons were the ride of choice in the spring summer and fall. Mary and Colin would bike everywhere together, always enjoying the sites.

Mary’s dogs were an intricate part of the family, Brandy and Precious China. They were a part of all the family activities and happenings. Mary herself was an extremely active woman. Always on the go she worked for the School System in food service for almost the last decade. Mary always took care of everyone. Her home had an open door policy; friends and relatives alike were always welcomed to come in , have a seat and share in some breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack! Love, kindness and comfort are what Mary enjoyed most and what most people remember her for.

Sadly Mary was predeceased by her parents,Kenneth and Theresa (Cullen) Bond. She is lovingly survived by her dear husband Colin P. Carney; her children, Colin P. Carney Jr. and his girlfriend Elizabeth Loomis of NH, Dennis “Dinny” Carney and his girlfriend Brandy and Michael Carney and his girlfriend Shauna, all of Woburn; her siblings Carol Jean Payne and Claire Upton and her husband Bob all of FL, Danny Bond and his companion Linda of West Acton, Anne Cail, Lois and David Bond all of Woburn; her grandchildren, Austin, Ty, Chloe, Caydin and Emma Carney. Mary is also survived by her loving and loyal dog Brandy. A funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday evening, May 27th at 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 27th from 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Interment is private.
