A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Friday, May 13th at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to Calling hours at the Funeral Home, from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass. OBITUARY:
Evelyn N. (DiTullio) Hunt passed away at the Sawtelle House in Reading, Tuesday, May 10th. The beloved wife of the late Alden F. Hunt she was eighty six years old.
Born in Everett,. Evelyn was one of two children born to Guiseppi and Teresa (Magno) DiTullio. They made their home in Everett and Evelyn graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1948. Following high school she secured a position as a secretary, where she remained until her marriage.
One weekend she and some friends ventured off to Queens, New York. It was there that she had met up with a fine young man named Alden, who happened to be in the area when her car needed some assistance! Well a long distance relationship ensued, Alden moved to Woburn and they married in 1960.
They dedicated themselves to their sons who brought great joy into their lives. All throughout the years they remained dedicated to each other and always there for guidance and assistance in any of their new ventures.
Evelyn had some very dear friends that she loved to spend time with. Often they would head off shopping for the day and finish up by having dinner.
A very religious woman, Evelyn had wonderful faith and every weekend it was imperative for her to be at Sunday Mass. A very kind and sweet woman Evelyn shared a great love for her family and her faith.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was also predeceased by her husband Alden.
She is lovingly survived by her sons David P. Hunt of Woburn and Damien F. Hunt, his wife Nancy of Varnville, SC. Dear sister of Joseph Ditullio. My words alone are not enough to say how much Evelyn meant to me and Destiny,Evelyn was like a mother to me and a grandmother to Destiny. We enjoyed so many good times and family holidays with her,we will miss her,
Evelyn was so kind and loving she was my best friend.
