OBITUARY:

Mary (Bova) Ciriello passed away at the Care One Facility in Wilmington, Wednesday, March 16th. The beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Ciriello Sr., she was ninety eight years of age.

Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ann (Fascione) Bova. Raised and educated in the North End of Boston Mary was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. Mary’s mother passed away at a young age and the bringing up her younger siblings became her responsibility. Mary’s grandmother was very instrumental in Mary learning how to cook. She caught on quickly and used all family recipes, throughout her life.

In 1941 she married Joe Ciriello, her dearest friend. They brought three children into the world and Mary was elated. They made their home in Somerville where they raised and educated their children.

Sunday was always “pasta day” and all the family would join together at the dining room table and be treated to a truly delicious Italian meal, that always had some pasta! This tradition continued over the years.

Mary and Joe moved to Woburn thirty five years ago. Sadly several years after moving here Joe passed away. Mary kept herself quite busy all throughout her life time. Crocheting afghan’s for family, friends, church or for a donation to the needy and attending craft fairs, she enjoyed it all. Mary had no fear, she would take on any and all jobs around the house. She was right out there helping her husband build a garage, paint the house, mow the lawn, and tend to her garden, it was all part of who Mary was.

From a very early age Mary learned by doing and throughout her life time, right on till the end, she always kept doing. Not just for herself, but for family, friends and any one in need.

Sadly Mary was predeceased by her parents, husband Joe, son Paul and brother’s Philip and Joseph Bova.

Mary was the loving mother of Joseph A. “Joe” Ciriello, his wife Jacquelyn “Jackie” of Wilmington, Ann Marie Perigny of FL, and the late Paul A. Ciriello. Dear sister of Catherine Ramaci of Boston. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn at the convienence of the family. All services are private.
