OBITUARY:

Theresa M. (Erwin) Maguire passed away at her home Monday, March 14th . The beloved wife of the late William H. Maguire Sr., she was eighty nine.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Margaret (Mahoney) Maguire. Raised and educated in Woburn Theresa was a graduate of St. Charles High School with the Class of 1942. Following high school she was introduced to Billy Maguire. He was in the Navy at the time, began dating and in March of 1948, they married and journeyed in to the next forty two years dedicated to each other.

They moved to the Central Square section of the City where they made their home and brought three wonderful children into the world. Theresa was dedicated to her children and husband. Bill was a Woburn Police Officer and Theresa was very involved in the Police Wives Association, having served as Vice President for years. Hampton Beach was the summer vacation spot over the years where family would gather for fireworks, cookouts, and all of the fun in the sun activities.

Theresa and Bill had travelled on several cruises, but their heart was always at home! They enjoyed being around their home and doing things together as a couple or as a family and wonderful times were shared. Bowling was another activity that Theresa had done for over twenty five years at the Woburn Bowladrome with friends and family.

Bow Lake, NH, was her most favorite place to be over the years! Summers there beginning when her children were small all the way to the grandchildren. The tubes, boats, rafts, laughter, frivolity brought her all the joy and happiness one grandmother’s heart could hold. Theresa’s grandchildren were her pride and joy! They all have a grown into fine young men and woman, all with wonderful professional careers in the medical, electrical, educational and social fields.

A very loving, caring and religious woman, she had great faith and had instilled all the familial values in all her children and grandchildren.

Sadly Theresa was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, William Henry Maguire Sr.

She is lovingly survived by her children, William H. Maguire Jr. his wife Betty , Robert E. Maguire his wife Donna , Diane Cutts her husband Larry all of Woburn, her eleven grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch –Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St. Woburn, on Saturday morning, March 19th at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn at 10.
