OBITUARY:

Patrick “Pat” Stella passed away at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester, Thursday evening March 10th after a brief llness. The beloved husband of the late Jennie (Scimone) Stella, he was ninety six years of age.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late Generoso and Carmela (Comanza) Stella. Raised in East Boston, Pat graduated from East Boston High School along with the Class of 1938. Following high school Pat joined the United States Navy, where he served his country proudly. Upon his return from the War, Pat and friends were at a dance in East Boston where he was introduced to a lovely young lady Jennie Scimone. There it all began and a year later they married at St Clements in Somerville.

Having moved to Woburn shortly after their marriage it was here that they brought two wonderful children into the world to whom they were devoted. Working in the family business, “Louis Stella Plumbing” he worked hard. In later years and the grandchildren began arriving Pat was thoroughly enthralled with his new role as “Papa”. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and when he retired, he and Jennie spent their winters in Florida, at West Palm Beach. They had so much fun there with the grandchildren visiting, new friendships they made there, golfing and playing bocce as often as possible with family and friends.

Sadly in 1990 Jennie passed away suddenly, but Pat mustered up all his strength and continued his journey with all the love and support of his wonderful family.

A very easy going gentle, man Pat was just one of those people that when you meet him you feel like you knew him for years. He shared many wonderful friendships over the years. Pat, lived independently right up to last week, when he had played his final game of bocce.

Sadly, Pat was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Jennie (Scimone) Stella and her siblings, Louis Stella his wife Mary, Bud Stella, Armand Stella his wife Parmie, Helen Stella, Mary Pollastrone her husband Paul and Marion Bololognese her husband James.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Robert Stella his wife Cynthia of Westford and Patricia Stella-Evans her husband James of NY and his grandchildren, Christopher Stella, Daniel Stella his Fiancé Kristen Bowes, Francesca Stella and Alexandra Evans. Patrick is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday morning March 15th at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn at 11.
