OBITUARY:

Carole L. (Connors) Vasapolli passed away at her home Friday evening February 19th, peacefully, surrounded with the love of her family. The beloved wife of Joseph “Joe “ Vasapolli, she was seventy eight years of age.

Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Morton and Karen (Anderson) Connors. Raised and educated in the South End of Woburn, Carole was a graduate of Woburn High School along with the Class of 1955.

Carole was introduced to Joe Vasapolli, who was a close friend of her nephews. Well, in 1958 they married and they have been side by side ever since! For eighteen years they lived in Winchester, where they made their home and in the mid 70’s moved “home” again to Woburn, where they remained until three years ago, having moved to Billerica.

They brought their dear daughter Amy into the world, to whom she was lovingly devoted. Home and family were synonymous with Carole. Probably the most organized person one would know, Carole kept a meticulous home and there was always a place for everything and of course, everything in its place!

Carole began working at the Mass-Flex Research Inc. which was first located in Woburn having moved to West Medford. She was superb at her job as a bookkeeper, and admired by her colleagues for her unbelievable dedication, determination and ability. Carole continued to work there right up to a year and a half ago, when she felt that her illness may possibly compromise her performance.

Carole truly loved life and everyone that was in her life. Always a smile, a warm welcome and plenty of conversation. Her neighbors were her friends as well as her family. Carole’s family shared an extraordinary bond. Being a close knit family, enjoying each other’s company all throughout the years.

For the last two years Carole “ fought the good fight” with her cancer. Whatever the treatment was and how she felt was never up for discussion. Her love and compassion for others was tremendous. Carole’s sense of humor never wavered nor did her abilities to live, love and laugh. All of this while being enveloped by the love of family, friends and her strong religious beliefs.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, Carole was predeceased by her sisters Lillian Balestrieri, Martha Southmayd, Margaret Gromyko, Marion Tuck, Evelyn Pierce, Charles and Morton Connors Jr.

Carole was lovingly survived by her dear and devoted husband of fifty seven years Joe, her cherished daughter Amy Hitchcock and loving granddaughter Isabella Hitchcock all of Billerica as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday morning February 25th at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 11. Interment is private. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral. Remembrances may be made in Carole’s memory to the Perkins School for the Blind, Perkins Trust Office, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
