ROBERT F. DAY- of Quincy, Friday, February 12th, at fifty six years of age. Dear brother of Buddy Day his wife Terry of Woburn, Kathy Spencer of VT., Betty-Jane Day of NH., Paul Day his wife Sandra of Woburn and Rebecca Green her husband Joseph of FL. Robert is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friends Chris Nourse, Manny Pina, Mike Bancewcz and his extended church family. Burial is private. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 20th at noon, at the Church on the Hill, 140 Bowdoin Street, Boston, MA 02108 (adjacent to the State House). A small reception will take place following the service. All are welcome and limited parking available.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oasis Coalition of Boston, 140 Bowdoin Street, Boston, MA 02108. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Rob (Bobby) passed comfortably Friday morning, February 12th, amidst love and surrounded by family and friends. Born and raised in Woburn he was the son of the late Milton A. and Elizabeth C. (Lynch) Day.

Rob was a graduate of Austin Prep High School order of St. Augustine, prior to joining the United States Army. While in the Army during the Viet Nam War, Rob served his country over in Germany. Rob recently gained national attention for his forming of a homeless “Book Club” with renowned Attorney Peter Resnik. Rob had a deep passion for assisting the homeless and those without the wherewithal and needed assistance. Rob achieved this through being very involved with various “Out Reach” Ministries through out the city of Boston.

Rob had previously served on the Board of Directors of the Oasis Coalition of Boston, as well as the Church Council for Church on the Hill, also in Boston. For many years he volunteered for Ecclesia-Ministries and their City Reach programs that worked with young people from around New England, educating them on the plight of the homeless.

Rob thoroughly enjoyed literature, cribbage, trivia, wit and humor, and was an avid fan of all Boston sports, as well as Nascar.

He is lovingly survived by his siblings, Buddy Day his wife Terry of Woburn, Kathy Spencer of VT., Betty -Jane Day of NH., Paul Day his wife Sandra of Woburn and Rebecca Green her husband Joseph of FL.
