OBITUARY:

Ann M.(Gibbons) O’Brien passed away at her home after a brief illness. The beloved wife of the late Edward L. O’Brien, she was ninety one years of age.

Born in Malden she was one of two children born to the late Edward J. and Annie (Quinn) Gibbons. Raised and educated in Cambridge, she was a graduate of Cambridge High School, Class of 1942.

Ann and her husband Ed moved to Woburn in 1953. They nestled in North Woburn where they made their home. Sadly, Ed passed away after twenty five years of marriage. Now, forty years to the day later, Ann passed away.

A woman of tremendous faith Ann was always very active in her church. Joining in the different groups and serving on different boards Ann lived as she believed, faith filled.

When she began her professional career she began working in retail. Beginning at Touraine’s in Harvard Square, and later became Cherry and Webb, where she remained until that store closed in the late seventies. She loved retail! Not only selling it but also purchasing many lovely pieces of clothing or anything necessary for Ed or her home!

Since her husband Ed passed away Ann has surrounded herself with some very dear friends from church, the neighborhood and work, Bunny , Betty and Frank and Rose. The all enjoyed the same interests and remained very close and active throughout those years. Ann also shared a very special relationship with her brothers children and their families.

Ann sadly was predeceased by her parents, husband Ed, brother Ed Gibbons and his wife Barbara.

She is lovingly survived by her nephew, Keith Gibbons and wife Cynthia “Cindy” of NH, her great nephew and nieces, Brian Gibbons, Jered Floyd and Richard Nordin all of Somerville, Kerry Gibbons and her boyfriend Troy Pentico of WI and Jill Bray and her husband David of Dracut, along with her beloved cat Princess. Also survived by her dear friends and neighbors, Vera (Bunny) Bebezas, Betty and Frank Hancock and Rose Styles.

A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday January 29th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street Woburn at 10.
