OBITUARY:

Rose L. Mozzetta passed away at the Sawtelle House in Reading, on Sunday, December 27th. The beloved wife of the late Michael Mozzetta and Louis J. DiNitto, she was ninety three years old.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late John and Assunta Albano. Having grown up in Somerville she attended public schools there, graduating with the Class of 1940. In 1941 she began working in the garment district on Kneeland Street in Boston. Rose worked there making jackets and coats for soldiers during World War II. Rose married Louie DiNitto and they were married for just over twenty five years. They brought three sons into the world and what a wonderful adventure! She was very proud of all three of her sons, in all that they have done and accomplished, and was even happier to be at home with them while growing up. When the grandchildren began arriving, it brought her much joy and happiness.

Rose then married Mike Mozzetta. Life again was full of all new adventures for the next thirty six years! Rose was extremely active over her life time. Having lived in Arlington for a number of years, Rose belonged to several organizations; Arlington Friends of Drama, a Bridge group who managed to played every week, and she had also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Town Manager. For a while she had worked at the “Card Shack”, in the center of Arlington, where she was able to show her talent at making floral arrangements.

Now having lived in Woburn for over twenty years Rose continued to keep up her activities in playing Bridge, belonging to the Red Hat Society, which was where she enjoyed the company of others over a certain age, doing all the things she loved to do, attending plays, book clubs, trips cards etc. She also participated at the Woburn Senior Center and all the different activities there. A proud “senior” Rose participated in the Senior Olympics where she was a gold medal winner in Bocce on two occasions!

Her faith, her family and her love was exactly how Rose lived and what life was all about. She loved life and so enjoyed all that she did.

Rose was predeceased by her parents, John and Assunta (Vaudo) Albano, husbands A. Michael Mozzetta and Louis J. DiNitto, and siblings Lucy Spinosa, Augustino “Gus” Albano, and Vincent Albano.

She was the devoted mother of Anthony J. DiNitto and his wife Janet, of Billerica, David J. DiNitto and his wife Jean, of Woburn, Lewis J. DiNitto and his wife Roberta of Wakefield.
