FRANCES MARCHESE – of Woburn, Dec. 24th. Longtime companion of the late A.J. Tatum. Dear aunt of Donald F. Bradley Jr. and his wife Kerrylynn of Weymouth,Karen Fiorentino of Billerica and the late Linda Skortsky and her husband Steven of Fl. Beloved sister of Virginia “Gina” Keon and her late Gerald of Billerica and the late Guy Marchese,Rose Bradley,Anthony Marchese, Mary Dumais, Eva Valentine,Celia Caterino,Frank Marchese, and Julia Maguire. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch –Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main St. Woburn, on Tuesday, Dec 29th at 9:00a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10. Interment in Calvary Cemetery Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, Monday, Dec. 28th 4 to 7 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Frances’ memory to the American Cancer Society, 247 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, Ma 02116.

OBITUARY:

Frances Marchese passed away at the Life Care Center in Lexington, on Thursday, December 24th. The longtime loving companion of the late A. J. Tatum, Frances was ninety six years old.

Born in Woburn, Frances was the daughter of the late Antonio and Francesa (Blanoi) Marchese. Raised and educated in Woburn, Frances was a graduate of Woburn High School with the Class of 1937.

Having grown up on a farm over on the west side of the city, she learned a very strong work ethic as a child. This work ethic carried her throughout the rest of her life.

While residing in the west side, Frances has worked as a waitress at the old time favorite “White Spot Restaurant. “ This was the beginning of a life long profession for Frances as she had waitressed at some very fine establishments throughout her life.

In her spare time Frances was an avid bowler at the Woburn Bowladrome, having belonged to several different leagues throughout her life. She had achieved membership in the nostalgic “300 Club”, which can only be achieved by a perfect score in a perfect game!

Frances also enjoyed being an active member of the Red Hat Society, partaking and enjoying in a lot of their activities.

While during her travels Frances had the privilege of not only meeting, but having a picture taken with Elvis Presley, as well as Elizabeth Montgomery, while she was dining at one of the finer restaurants in Washington D.C.

Sadly her long time companion A.J. Tatum predeceased Frances, along with her brothers Guy Marchese, Anthony Marchese, Frank Marchese and her sisters Rose Bradley, Mary Dumais, Eva Valentine, Celia Caterino, and Julia Maguire.

Frances is lovingly survived by her beloved sister Virginia “Gina” Keon, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
