VIRGINIA R.(ROACH) SMITH- of Woburn, Beloved wife of Frederick W. Smith. Devoted mother of Frederick W. Smith JR. and his wife Mary of TX and Patricia Smith and Gregory of MD. Loving sister of the late John Roach, Walter Roach, Ellen McIssac and William Roach. Also survived by four wonderful grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch- Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, November 4th, at 9:15 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10a.m. Internment in Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem Street, Woburn. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday form 4-8 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Virginia’s memory to the St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, 01801.

OBITUARY:

Virginia R. (Roach) Smith passed away Unexpectedly On Friday October 30th. She was the beloved wife of Frederick W. Smith for over 60 years she was born in Quincy Ma.

Virginia graduated form Quincy high. Upon Graduation She went to the Woodward school at Boston University training as a Secretary, also she participated in a singing group known as Youth on Parade. Before she was married she worked in Boston in the Banking Profession, after marrying Fredrick she ran their household raising their 2 children, in her later career she worked at The Choate Hospital as a Secretary in the Intensive care Dept.

She was the Daughter of the Late Walter Roach of Nova Scotia and his wife Mary (Crowley) Roach who was born in Massachusetts a member of

St. Barbara’s “Young at Heart Group”.

Virginia was sadly predeceased by her parents Walter Roach and Mary (Crowley) Roach as well as her siblings John, Walter, and William Roach, and Ellen McIssac.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Frederick W. Smith JR. and his wife Mary of TX and Patricia Smith and Gregory of MD as well as her four wonderful grandchildren.

    We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved wife and mother. Aunt Virginia was a lovely lady and Mike and I enjoyed our phone conversations with her. Mike holds many fond memories of her. He appreciates how good she was to him and Bud when they were little. She will be greatly missed. Love and God bless you Aunt Virginia.
