Elsie N.  ‘Ellie’ (Lanciano) Pappas

Elsie N.”Ellie” (LANCIANO) PAPPAS – Of Woburn, Thursday, October 29th. Beloved wife of the late Spiro Pappas. Devoted mother of Robert “Bob” F. Pappas and his wife Fran of Woburn, Virginia “Viki” R. Greene and her husband Robert J. of Billerica. Cherished “Nana” of Laurie, Kimberly, Cynthia, Jenna, Anthony and Nicole, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Beatrice McCue of Woburn, Yvonne Bishop of Woburn Mary Rawkaski of North Carolina and the late Frank, Anna, Edward and Peter. Internment is private. Services are under the direction of Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main Street Woburn. Remembrances may be made in Ellie’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

OBITUARY:

Elsie N. “Ellie” (Lanciano) Pappas of Woburn passed away in Winchester Hospital on Thursday, October 29th. She was the beloved wife of the late Spiro Pappas, who died in 1988.

Born in Roxbury, Ellie was the daughter of the late Peter B. and Yvonne M. (Bellmare) Lanciano. She was raised in Woburn and lived here throughout her life. Ellie had a keen interest in city politics and kept busy as a tenant representative at her residence on Warren Avenue. She particularly loved to organize the parties there and enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. Feisty and outgoing, she always spoke the truth and was known for her generous spirit.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Frank, Edward and Peter, and a sister, Anna.

Surviving are a son, Robert “Bob” F. Pappas and his wife Fran of Woburn, and a daughter, Virginia “Viki” R. Greene and her husband Robert J. of Billerica. She was the cherished “Nana” of Laurie, Kimberly, Cynthia, Jenna, Anthony and Nicole, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Beatrice McCue and Yvonne Bishop, both of Woburn, and Mary Rawkaski of North Carolina.

Interment is private. Services are under the direction of Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home 263 Main Street Woburn.
