OBITUARY:

Sarah I “Sal” Lawn passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center early Sunday morning, October 18th. The beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Sadie (Connery) Lawn, she would have been 95 Saturday.

One of four children in the Lawn family, she grew up in the Rag Rock section of the city, was educated in Woburn and a graduate of Woburn High School. Following high school, she then began her career at the Telephone Company, where she remained for over forty two years.

In the early sixties she, her sister Helena and parents moved to Burlington, where they remained for a little over forty years. During this time Sal and her sister Helena watched over their parents until their passing.

After Sal’s retirement from the telephone company, she and her sister travelled everywhere! Hawaii, California, across the United States, Ireland, England, Morraco and all around and about Europe and Asia. Ireland was her favorite All of their traveling also led to “little trinkets” for all of the nieces and nephews, to whom she shared a wonderful relationship. Holidays, special days and any day, there was always time for any one or all of them!

A woman of great faith she has always remained close to St. Charles Church and parish attending Mass, Bible study groups over the years and church happenings. A very gentle, kind and sweet woman “Sal” gave of herself all her life. Her parents, sisters, brother nieces, nephews and Church ,she was always there to lend a helping hand in any way possible even to those she didn’t know.

Sadly, Sal was predeceased by her parents, and siblings Thomas and Helena Lawn, Dorothy Brown and Ann Urban.

Sal is lovingly survived by her nieces, nephews and their spouses, Leslie Smith and William Brown both of Woburn, Debra Lindmark and her late husband Peter of Fl, Gay Ferrie and her late husband John of Arlington, Paula Packard and her husband Dale of Burlington, Janice Craugh and her husband Dave of PA, and the late Patricia Brown and Jane Redman. Also survived by many loving great and grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
