OBITUARY:

Marie A. (Cucolo) Pizzo, passed away Thursday, October 1st at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was ninety-two years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmine C. Pizzo to whom she was married for fifty-six years at the time of his passing in 2004.

Marie was born in Winchester, one of three daughters of the late Alfonso and Elizabeth (Gigliotti) Cucolo. She was raised in Winchester, growing up on Tremont Street in Winchester’s “Little Italy”. She was a graduate of Winchester High School, Class of 1941. Marie met her beloved husband Carmine at the age of sixteen. They simply crossed paths in Woburn square and were inseparable from that moment on. They brought one wonderful son into the world and made their family home on Woburn’s west side.

Marie traveled extensively with her son Paul. Great memories were made all over the world. They traveled to Italy, Austria, Germany, Prague and Budapest just to name a few. Despite, her proud Italian heritage, Austria was her favorite of all. Her time in Woburn was filled with friends and laughter, most often at their very own table at the South End Italian Club. She enjoyed spending time crocheting, and going to dinner with friends. Most of all, she will be fondly as a kind and outgoing person with a true love for her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Carmine, Marie was sadly predeceased by her brother in law Anthony Gillotte and dear friend Terry Solazzi.

Marie is lovingly survived by her son, Paul M. Pizzo; her two sisters, Ida Gillotte and Beverly Connolly and her husband Bill, all of Woburn. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and her dear friends, Annie Restivo, Mary Pepe and Loretta Lentz.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, October 8th at 11:00. Interment is private.
