OBITUARY:

Ada L. (Meehan) Meuse passed away peacefully at Woodbriar Nursing Center in Wilmington after a brief illness. Wife of the late Joseph A. Meuse, she was ninety two years of age.

A life long resident of Woburn’s South End, Ada was one of eight children born to the late Bernard S. and Sadie (Gallagher) Meehan. As a matter of fact Ada, was born in the house that her grandfather had built and where she remained for almost her entire life. Raised and educated in Woburn Ada was graduate of St Charles High School, Class of 1941. Following high school Ada began working for the New England Telephone Company while it was right here in Woburn. In 1946 she married Joe Meuse and brought six children into the world, whom the sun set and rose over!

Ada was a very devoted mother to her children, being there from the time they woke up to when they went to sleep. Keeping a meticulous home, and being sure that breakfast, lunch and dinners were always together, each and every day. Ada was a very intrinsic part of all her children’s lives and celebrated all of their achievements and accomplishments.

Summers were always a time for the family to head north to Lincoln, New Hampshire where over the years The Beacon Hotel was the destination. It was here that many of the family adventures took place in the pool, on a hike or goin’ fishing just to name a few!

In later years and the children began to marry and Ada was thrilled to be called “Nana” to her dear loving grandchildren. Whether they were in Maine, Connecticut, Billerica or the Cape, Nana always managed to spend some very special times with each of them and revered in the highlights of all their lives.

A very gentle, softspoken, patient woman, Ada had great faith and always remained devoted to her God and church. Her faith, her family and her tremendous love of all, encompassed her life fully.

In addition to her parents Ada was sadly predeceased by her daughters Regina Meuse and Karen Stickney and her siblings James, Bernard, John, William, and Edward Meehan, Dorothy McKillop, and Mary Bonenfant.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Mary Walby and her husband Chuck, Joseph J. Meuse Jr. and his wife Leslie, John Meuse and his wife Kathy and Jerry Meuse and his wife Judy; her Son-in-law, Stephen Stickney; her grandchildren, Greg and Chris Walby, Michael, Daniel, Katie, Elena and Gina Meuse, Matthew & Meghan Stickney; her three great grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces, nephews great and grand.

Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, September 19th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
