OBITUARY

Barbara Jean (Finn) Martin, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Woburn, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2015. She was eighty six years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late James Martin to whom she was married for fifty years at the time of his passing in 2000.

Barbara was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, daughter of the late George and Harriet (Seger) Finn. She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. She would go on to meet her future husband Jim at Moseley’s on the Charles. They would marry in 1950. The Martins brought ten wonderful children into the world and settled in Woburn. The family enjoyed many vacations to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Annual trips to Polar Caves, Story Land and Clarks Trading Post were a fixture of any vacation.

Barbara was truly dedicated to her family, and still found time to travel and take trips with her husband Jim. Traveling all over the world, they made trips to Portugal, London, Bermuda, Jamaica, Washington D.C. and Niagara Falls, as well as the occasional ski trip in the winter, a pastime she greatly enjoyed.

Barbara was a wonderful cook. She carried on a traditional Sunday dinner on a weekly basis. She also would occasionally make a romantic dinner on Saturday night, just for her and Jim. Holidays were always a special time with family and friends. In her later years, she was “always on call” to babysit. She got along with everyone that she encountered and her laughter was contagious. More than anything, she enjoyed time that she spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Jim, Barbara was sadly predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Seger.
