PHILIP V. CIAVARDONE – of Woburn, Wednesday, August 19th. Devoted father of Darwin T. Ciavardone and his wife Kim Griffiths of Woburn, Philip V. Ciavardone, Jr. and his wife Lynnette of NC, and Randy F. Ciavardone of Woburn. Cherished grandfather of Meghan, Hannah, DJ, Brianna, Katelind, and Michael. Former husband of Louanne Fuller. He was preceded by his daughter Linda, granddaughter Kasandra Rose, and his brother Nicholas. A Funeral will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Saturday, November 28th at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a calling hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made in Philip’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.

OBITUARY:

Philip V. Ciavardone, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away August 19th after a lingering illness. A beloved father, grandfather and friend, Philip was eighty five years of age.

Born in Watertown, he was the son of the late Thomas and Virginia (Belcamino) Ciavradone.

Raised and educated in Watertown, Phillip was a graduate of Watertown High School with the Class of 1947.

Following High School, Philip became involved in the food industry. He began working for Howard Johnson for a while then to White Hen Pantry, where he managed several stores and then to Computervision where he managed and operated the cafeterias in Woburn, Bedford and Burlington.

Having lived in Needham, Stoughton and Melrose, Phillip moved to Woburn in 1975. With three sons, he was actively involved with his children and teaching them, each and every sport he new how to play ! Philip was actively involved in Woburn Little League, having served on the board of directors then also as President and all while the kids were on teams, Philip coached. He was truly an avid baseball fan as he also was instrumental in getting Woburn Little League actively involved with the Jimmy Fund.

An active softball player with his peers Philip started the Men’s Industrial Softball League in Burlington and Bedford.

As the boys grew into fine young men they all enjoyed spending time with each other. Be it on the golf course or at a baseball game, they always had the time for each other.

When the grandchildren arrived, well in Philips’ eyes and heart there was truly nothing in the world nicer than being with them, and having the opportunity to be with all his family.

Philip is lovingly survived by his children, Darwin T. Ciavardone and his wife Kim Griffiths of Woburn, Philip V. Ciavardone, Jr. and his wife Lynnette of NC, and Randy F. Ciavardone of Woburn, his grandchildren, Meghan, Hannah, DJ, Brianna, Katelind, and Michael, as well as his former wife,Louanne Fuller. Sadly he was preceded by his daughter Linda, granddaughter Kasandra Rose, and his brother Nicholas.
