THERESE L. “TESSIE” (LESLIE) WALSH – of Woburn, Tuesday, July 14th. Beloved wife of the late Arthur S. Walsh. Devoted mother of Robert A. Walsh of Woburn, Lesley A. Craft and her husband Stephen, Susan L. Walsh-Hubert and her husband Gene, all of Tewksbury, and Arthur E. Walsh and his wife Karen of Billerica. Dear sister of Joan Atkinson and her husband Richard of FL and Paul Leslie and his wife Wanda of Townsend. Cherished “Nana” of Mitchell, Jonathan, Stephen, Carolyn, Sarah, Michael, and Kelly. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday, July 21st at 10 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Tessie’s memory to the Friends of Woburn Veterans, c/o Veterans Office, 144 School Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

OBITUARY:

Therese L. “Tessie” (Leslie) Walsh passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14th at Wilmington Healthcare with her beloved family by her side. The beloved wife of the late Arthur S. Walsh, she was eighty-six years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, “Tessie,” as she was affectionately known, was one of three children of the late Raymond and Anna (Devlin) Leslie. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School, Class of 1947.

Tessie was a hard worker throughout her lifetime and began working for a Boston Insurance Company, then worked at the Winchester Country Club. She retired from Winchester’s Aberjona Nursing Home.

Tessie married the love of her life, Artie, in 1953. They brought four children into the world whom they adored. Always active, Tessie was a member of the Innitou Ski Club and loved to camp and travel. As a family, the Walsh’s enjoyed many happy summers at Hampton Beach. Tessie also had a creative side and enjoyed painting, ceramics, and sewing. She had a passion for reading and sharing her knowledge. Most of all, Tessie looked forward to time spent with her family and close friends.

A woman of great love and devotion for her family and friends, she will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur S. Walsh.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Robert A. Walsh of Woburn, Lesley A. Craft and her husband Stephen, Susan L. Walsh-Hubert and her husband Gene, all of Tewksbury, and Arthur E. Walsh and his wife Karen of Billerica; her sister, Joan Atkinson and her husband Richard of FL; her brother, Paul Leslie and his wife Wanda of Townsend; and her grandchildren, Mitchell, Jonathan, Stephen, Carolyn, Sarah, Michael, and Kelly.
