NANCY E. PEÑA – of Woburn, Thursday, March 19th, thirty-eight years of age. Beloved daughter of Roque and Felicita (DelValle) Peña. Devoted sister of Roque Peña, Jr., Alexy Peña and his wife Cindy, Holvin Peña and his wife Kelley, Iris R. Peña-De Santiago and her husband Julio Santiago, and Evelyn Peña-Hodgdon and her husband Michael Hodgdon. Loving girlfriend of Sean McDermottroe. Cherished “Auntie Nancy” of many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. Also survived by many loving friends and co-workers. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, March 26th at 10 a.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Remembrances may be made in Nancy’s memory to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006.

OBITUARY:

Nancy E. Peña passed away Thursday, March 19th at Mass General Hospital in Boston. The beloved daughter of Roque and Felicita (DelValle) Peña, she was thirty-eight years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Nancy was one of six children. She attended Woburn Schools, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1994. Following graduation, Nancy went on to attend Medical Assistant School. She finished with a CNA degree and worked in the medical field. Nancy was also a waitress and then became a bartender at Applebee’s where she has been for a number of years.

Nancy loved the beach and soaking up the sun. She travelled a bit to Florida and Puerto Rico, where she could enjoy the beach and beautiful weather. She was very close with her family and loved being “Auntie Nancy” to her many nieces, nephews, and their families. A hard worker, Nancy never stopped going! She enjoyed education and attended lots of schooling in cosmetology, nursing, and medical assisting. A “jack of all trades”, Nancy had a myriad of knowledge in many different fields.

Nancy was very devoted to her family. Honest and loyal to a fault, Nancy was sweet and loved by all who knew her.

She is lovingly survived by her parents, Roque and Felicita (DelValle) Peña; her siblings, Roque Peña, Jr., Alexy Peña and his wife Cindy, Holvin Peña and his wife Kelley, Iris R. Peña-De Santiago and her husband Julio Santiago, and Evelyn Peña-Hodgdon and her husband Michael Hodgdon; her boyfriend, Sean McDermottroe; many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and many friends and co-workers.

  1. To the Peña family Nancy was a beautiful girl with a great sense of humor. I’ve known Nancy since she was a young girl. My son and daughter hung around with Nancy. Kevin will be there waiting for her in heaven. God bless. Always in my heart.
