OBITUARY:

Janet M. “Jay” Connery passed away at her home unexpectedly, on Friday, February 27th. The beloved daughter of Rita (Corsetti) Connery and the late Peter Connery, she was forty-three years of age.

Born in Winchester, she was raised and educated in Woburn having graduated with the Class of 1990.

“Jay,” as she liked to be called, brought her son Christopher into the world to whom she has been devoted. Totally invested in Christopher’s coming and goings she was actively involved in his social and educational events.

Fashion was always important to Jay. Her daily ensemble for each day was chosen with the utmost attention! Everything was color coordinated, the blouse, skirt/slacks and shoes. Her favorite color being purple, Jay always had some glitz or sparkle to accent any outfit. She also loved an iconic style, and was an avid collector of “Betty Boop” paraphernalia.

Cooking was the area in which Jay excelled. Always planning the meals and cooking gourmet dinners for all to share! She was never afraid to try a new dish or repeat some of the old family recipes. Her favorite way to treat herself, though, was with her morning Iced Butter Pecan coffee.

Jay brought great joy and happiness to all who shared in her life. Words really can’t express the sadness the family is feeling at her unexpected departure.

Sadly Jay was predeceased by her father, Peter; her best friend, Sue Pender; and her nieces, Kelsie and Jillian Straus.

She is lovingly survived by her mother, Rita Connery; her son, Christopher S. Connery and his girlfriend Jenna Turner of Woburn; and her siblings, Cheryl Straus and her husband Meinrad of Dracut and Scott Connery and his partner Michael Beirne of RI; as well as William Turner of Woburn, and her beloved cats, Mrs. Cheeks and Onie.

Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, March 4th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn at 10. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
