OBITUARY:

Richard P. “Richie” Kelley passed away Sunday, January 11th at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. The beloved son of Richard A. Kelley and the late Mary (Eaton) Kelley, he was fifty-six years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, a lifelong resident, “Richie,” as he was affectionately known, was one of four children. He attended Woburn schools, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1977. Following high school he secured a job in construction, where he remained for a good number of years.

Later, Richie began working at a home where he was a counselor and a manager. He really enjoyed working with the people at the house and had found his niche. Richie was a man of great character, had a heart of gold, and was a pillar of support for the many he worked with.

Last spring Richie was diagnosed with cancer, but that never affected his strength and character. He never complained and truly enjoyed the company of his family, and friends.

Richie was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Eaton) Kelley.

He is lovingly survived by his father, Richard A. Kelley of Woburn; his siblings, Daniel A. Kelley of Tewksbury, Patricia Marie Power and her husband Larry of NH, and Jennifer Croke and her husband Jonathan of North Billerica; and his nieces, Kelley Holman, Amanda Martel, Michelle Kelley, all of NH, and Danielle Kelley of PA.
