EILEEN T. (HUCHKO) ROMAN – suddenly at the age of 48, in Woburn, formerly of Salem, November 5th. Cherished daughter of Dorothy F. (Lehane) Huchko of Woburn and the late Richard Huchko. Beloved sister of John P. Huchko and his wife Candace of PA and Richard M. Huchko and his fiancée Jeanne Carroll of W. Roxbury. Special friend of Fred Erickson of Woburn. Loving aunt of Anna and Kate Huchko. Also survived by her husband, Christopher Roman of Florida, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, November 9th, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of America, 47 Walnut St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481-2108.

OBITUARY:

Eileen T. (Huchko) Roman of Woburn passed away suddenly on Monday, November 5th, at the age of forty-eight. She was the cherished daughter of Dorothy F. “Dottie” (Lehane) Huchko of Woburn and the late Richard A. Huchko.

Born and raised in Woburn, she attended St. Charles Elementary and Woburn High School, graduating with the Class of 1983. She resided in Salem for a number of years before returning to live in Woburn five years ago. After graduating from college, Eileen worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a social worker. Primarily she worked in group homes and assisting those with disabilities. On her journey she had the good fortune of meeting a young child, now a teenager, named Trey. She came to care for him and acted as his mentor over the years as she followed his progress.

Eileen loved the beach and especially boating. She traveled regularly to Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends including her special friend in recent years, Fred, and her beloved dog.

Surviving, along with her mother, are two brothers, John P. Huchko and his wife Candace of Pennsylvania and Richard M. Huchko and his fiancée Jeanne Carroll of West Roxbury, her special friend, Fred Erickson of Woburn, and her nieces, Anna and Kate Huchko. Also surviving are her husband, Christopher Roman of Florida, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, November 9th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will be private.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society of America, 47 Walnut St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481-2108.
