MARJORIE L. MURPHY – in Woburn, Nov. 2nd. Daughter of the late Frank and Stacia (Foley) Murphy. Longtime companion of Charles McPherson of Woburn. Dear sister of Robert Murphy and his wife Nancy of Woburn and the late Dorothy F. Donovan and her husband Frederick. Loving aunt of Barbara Spencer and her husband Patrick of NH, Maureen Cathey and her husband Robert of SC, and Bobby Murphy of Medford. Also lovingly survived by several grandnieces and nephews and their families. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, November 6th, at 10:45 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Calling hours Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. OBITUARY:

Marjorie L. Murphy, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on Friday, November 2nd, following a brief illness. She was ninety years of age.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stacia (Foley) Murphy. She graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1940 and worked for many years in sales at H.R. White, a department store in Boston.

She met her longtime companion, Charlie McPherson, in Hyannis in the mid-1950’s. They enjoyed traveling in earlier years, and often took her nieces and nephew on outings to Plum Island and to the Cape. Marjorie was an avid hockey fan who for many years had season tickets to the Bruins.

Along with her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy F. Donovan, and brother-in-law, Frederick Donovan.

Surviving in addition to her companion, Charles McPherson, are a brother, Robert Murphy and his wife Nancy of Woburn, two nieces, Barbara Spencer and her husband Patrick of New Hampshire and Maureen Cathey and her husband Robert of South Carolina, and a nephew, Bobby Murphy of Medford. She also leaves several loving grandnieces and nephews and their families.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, November 6th, at 10:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Interment will take place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
