WILLIAM D. “BILL” DiIANNI – age 80, of Burlington, formerly of Lexington, July 18th. Beloved husband of Marisa (DiMara) DiIanni. Devoted father of Linda DiIanni of Burlington and William A. DiIanni, Jr. of Boston. Dear brother of Fr. Albert R. DiIanni, s.m., of Boston and Robert A. DiIanni of Switzerland. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, July 23rd at 10:45 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Calling hours Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

WILLIAM D. “BILL” DiIANNI passed away Wednesday, July 18th, with his loving family by his side. The beloved husband of Marisa (DiMara) DiIanni, he was eighty years of age.

Born and raised in North Woburn, Mr. DiIanni was one of three sons of Modesto and Marcia (Grossi) DiIanni.

William, or “Bill,” as he was affectionately known, attended Maryvale Seminary in Bedford. He then went on to further his studies at Marist College in Framingham. During his studies, he had the opportunity to study in Rome, a chance which he immensely enjoyed. After graduating college, Bill continued his persuit of knowledge at Boston College graduating from BC Law School. Extremely driven, he began work at the stock market and evenutally becoming a partner at Wellington Management Company. This position he held with great respect and a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

In July of 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Marisa, at St. Anthony Church in North Woburn. Together, they brought two wonderful children into the world. Bill was a very good provider and encouraged his children to excel in anything they tried. His son William decided to follow his father’s footsteps, being a stockbroker and his daughter Linda a lawyer. Needless to say, Bill was extremely proud of both his children.

Bill enjoyed swimming and also being an artist. He loved to paint and drawer. He had a great talent at making copies of Van Gogh and Renoir originals.

A man of great motivation, determination, and talent Bill has left a very special place in the hearts of all he knew.

Mr. DiIanni was predeceased by his parents. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Marisa (DiMara) DiIanni, his children, William A. DiIanni, Jr. of Boston, and Linda DiIanni of Burlington, and his brothers, Fr. Albert R. DiIanni, s.m. of Boston and Robert A. DiIanni of Switzerland.
