OBITUARY:

Shane Patrick Murphy passed away unexpectedly in Newington CT, Friday, May 11th. The beloved son of Kevin Murphy of CT and Karen (Keane) Murphy of Woburn, he was thirty years of age.

Born in Winchester he was raised and educated in Woburn, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 2000. Following high school Shane had continued his education at Northern Essex Community College where he achieved an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.

Shane always had an interest in boxing. He trained over the years and participated in several Golden Glove events.

For several years he moved down south to Charleston, South Carolina. There he became involved in the Restaraunt business, and had continued in this profession when he returned north two years ago.

Any sport, any season, Shane enjoyed them all. There was not a song that Johnny Cash wrote or sang, that he didn’t know.

Shane was a very fun loving, right to the point kind of youngman. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and appreciated all things Irish. Certainly not a man of many words, but when he spoke it was well thought out, to the point, always interjected with a little humor. He certainly has made some wonderful, lasting memories, during his brief thirty years on earth.

Shane was predeceased by his grandparents William Keane, James and Anna Murphy.

He is lovingly survived by his parents Kevin and Karen (Keane) Murphy, his siblings Kevin Murphy and his wife Adrienne of NY and Morgan Murphy and her boyfriend Jason Hadley of CT. Cherished grandson of Marjorie (Duran) Keane of Woburn. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home on Friday, May 18th at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church., 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Relatived and friends may call on Thursday 3-8 p.m. Donations may be made in Shane’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
