OBITUARY:

Marjorie B. LeSeur, a resident of Woburn for nearly forty years, passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center on Saturday, December 31st, just two days after her ninety-second birthday.

Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Marje was the daughter of the late Leon E. and Isabella (Howard) Botting. She attended schools in Yonkers and lived in New York until 1973, when she took up residence with her husband Bill in Woburn. For a number of years she worked as a retail clerk in the Almy’s Department Store in Woburn.

Marjorie volunteered a great deal of her time to various charitable organizations. She was very invested in the First Congregational Church of Woburn, where she was a deacon and participated in Bible study and other church activities. She was also a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star.

An independent woman, she lived on her own until recent months. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and shopping. Immensely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Marje was known to show off their photos to complete strangers. She cherished the time spent with each of them.

Preceding her in death, along with her husband William, who died in 1988, was her daughter, Dawn E. Scott of Woburn, who died two years ago.

Surviving are her son-in-law, Donald P. Scott of Woburn, two grandchildren, Heather J. Wells and her husband Joseph, and David W. Scott and his wife Rachel, all of Woburn, and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jillian Wells and Eli Scott.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 322 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday, January 5th at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Handicap ramp and wheelchair access are available at the rear of the church. There are no calling hours, and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie’s memory to the First Congregational Church, 322 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.

I was so saddened to hear of Marge’s passing. I met her when I became a member of the First Congregational Church in Woburn back in late 2006. She was such a caring person. I will miss her warm smile. My condolences to her family, friends and members of our church,
    Theresa

Marge was our mother’s roommate at Winchester Nursing. She was a lovely lady. She was a lot of fun. We enjoyed our visits with her. She will be missed.
