MARY E. CONNOLLY – in Winchester, Monday, October 20th, beloved daughter of the late Peter and Delia (Coyne) Connolly. Dear sister-in-law of Florence Connolly of Winchester and cherished sister of the late Joseph M., Edward and Thomas Connolly. Loving aunt of Michael, Joel and Kevin Connolly, Karen King and the late Joanna Mercurio and eleven grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to call at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow in St.Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 9. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Miss Connolly’s memory to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 85 Bethany Road, Framingham, MA 01702.

OBITUARY:

Mary E. Connolly, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away Monday, October 20th, at the Lifecare Center in Stoneham with her niece by her side. Born in Woburn, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Delia (Coyne) Connolly. She was a graduate of Winchester High School and a lifelong parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Church in Winchester where she was extremely active. Following high school, she was employed by the New England Telephone Company as an operator and rose to the position of administrator before retiring at the age of sixty-five. She was also very active in the New England Pioneers. Mary’s lifelong dream was to travel to Ireland and in 1974 her dream was realized as she traveled there with her dear friends from the phone company.

Mary was blessed with nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and she cherished spending time with them, watching them mature and prosper. She also watched out for her neighbors and treated them wither wonderful baked goods. Mary was a kind and gentle woman with a generous spirit that extended to all those who knew her.

Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph M., Edward and Thomas Connolly and her niece, Joanna Mercurio.

She is lovingly survived by her nephews, Michael, Joel and Kevin Connolly, Karen King and eleven grand nieces and nephews.
