MARGUERITE E. “PEG” (MARTEL) STYGLES – in Hutchinson, Kansas, formerly of Woburn, September 27th. Beloved wife of Leo E. Stygles. Devoted mother of Rita Ouelette Eickhorst of Leominster, Roger T. Ouellette and his wife Dolly of Tucson, AZ, Lynne Stygles Pennington and her husband Clark of Hutchinson, Kansas, and the late Gerald A. Ouellette. Dear sister of Margie Marchand of Billerica. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at 9 a.m. in Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem Street, Woburn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, are on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
OBITUARY:
Marguerite E. “Peg” Stygles, a longtime Woburn resident who has made her home in Kansas for the past two years, passed away at her home there on Saturday evening, September 27th. The beloved wife of Leo E. Stygles for more than fifty-three years, she was ninety-two.
Born in Lowell, Peg was the daughter of the late Godefroy and Marie Zenoide (Gosslin) Martel. She graduated from Billerica High School with the Class of 1934. During World War II she worked in factories making shells and other military items to support the war effort. She and Leo were married in 1955 and they took up residence in Woburn, where they remained for over fifty years. In 2006 they moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, to be with their daughter, Lynne Pennington and her husband Clark.
For many years Peggy, as she was known to family and friends, was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. She held membership in the Independent Order of Vikings.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald A. Ouelette, as well as several brothers and a sister.
Surviving along with her husband Leo are three children: Rita Ouelette Eickhorst of Leominster, Roger T. Ouellette and his wife Dolly of Tucson, AZ, and Lynne Stygles Pennington and her husband Clark of Hutchinson, Kansas, and the late Gerald A. Ouellette. She was the dear sister of Margie Marchand of Billerica, and loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Sorry to hear of Peg’s death. Over the years, Peg and I shared many good laughs at the Post Office. My sympathy to all the family
