OBITUARY:

Patricia “Patty” (Brady) Weeks, of Woburn, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 23rd, after a brave and determined five year battle with cancer. The beloved wife of the late Donald Weeks, she was fifty-three years of age. Born in Woburn, Patty, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of the late Robert and Beatrice (Carroll) Brady. A graduate of Woburn High School with the Class of 1975, Patty began her working career immediately following high school. She was first employed at Unifirst in Woburn, where she met her future husband Donald. In 1978, Patty and Donald were married and made their home in Acton. During that time Patty was employed at Digital in the purchasing department. Over the next several years, she honed her skills in the area of administration where she proved to be highly proficient. After thirteen years of devotion to one another, Donald passed away in October of 1991, as a result of cancer. Two years later, Patty relocated to Clearwater, FL where she was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Group Tech. During the eight years she resided in Florida, she became actively involved with her local Church and was known to the younger members of the congregation as “Miss Patty”. In her leisure, she enjoyed the beach and deemed Saturday, “beach day”, after which she would indulge in her favorite treat, ice cream.

In 2001, Patty returned to Woburn and continued her career as an Administrative Assistant with Raytheon. Initially assigned to their home office in Lexington, she was later transferred to their Waltham office.

As one of seven children, family meant everything to Patty. She was extremely close to her siblings and in later years she was blessed with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, whom she cherished. She looked forward to their visits and her spirits were bolstered whenever they visited regardless of how she may have been feeling. Patty just loved life and was truly devoted to her family and friends. She was especially close with her sister-in-law and best friend, Brenda Brady, who passed away unexpectedly last week.

Despite her illness, Patty never lost her faith, her ability to appreciate the beauty that life holds and her indomitable spirit.

In addition to her husband, Donald Weeks, Patty was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Beatrice (Carroll) Brady, and her sister-in-law, Brenda E. Brady.

She is lovingly survived by her siblings, Ellen S. Brown and her husband Edward of Arlington, Robert Brady of Woburn, Paula Sevigny and her husband Richard of Dracut, Timothy Brady of Woburn, Karen Grimes and her husband Stephen of Houston, TX and Jacquelyn Leone and her husband Michael of Lowell. Longtime companion of Robert “Toj” Nowosielski and his children, Sara, Laura, Amy and Michael, all of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Wednesday, August 27th at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 9. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Acton. Donations may be made in Patty’s memory to VNA Hospice Care, 100 Sylvan Road, G-500, Woburn, MA 01801.
