OBITUARY:

Thomas J. Scully of Woburn passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3rd, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Schofield) Scully, who died in 1995.

Born in Somerville eighty-one years ago, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bridget (Constidine) Scully. He was raised in Somerville and attended schools there, completing his education with a degree from Boston College.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the US Navy.

He and his wife Lorraine were married in 1966 and made their home on Minchin Drive, on Woburn’s West Side. He worked as part of the engineering staff for Continental Metal Products in Woburn as a layout person for steel products used in the healthcare field. Following his retirement in 1998, he became involved with the Meals on Wheels program in the Woburn area, a job he truly loved because of the many friends he made in the course of his deliveries.

Tom and his family spent many summers at Hampton Beach and he particularly enjoyed making Sunday breakfasts. He was an avid football fan and and enjoyed listening to jazz. His family was most important to him, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a longtime member of the George Campbell Post 101 American Legion.

Along with his wife Lorraine, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Scully.

Surviving are three daughters: Lynne Greene and her husband Paul of Woburn, Laurie Higginson and her spouse Diane of Connecticut, and Bridget MacMillan and her husband Scott of Boxford. He was also the dear brother of Louise Scully of Wellesley, and loving grandfather of Paul Jr. and Douglas Greene, Michele Morales, Jacqui Greene, Colin and Wes MacMillan.
