OBITUARY:

Claire L. Heffron, a resident of Woburn’s West Side for more than fifty years, passed away in Winchester early Friday morning, August 1st. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas D. Heffron, who died in November of 2006.

Born in Boston eighty-four years ago, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann (Phinn) Lacey. She grew up in Somerville and attended schools there. She met her husband Thomas when they worked together in Watertown. Together they moved to Woburn’s West Side in 1954 and raised their family. Claire enjoyed caring for her home and family and, along with her husband, was very involved in her sons’ interests and activities. They enjoyed camping together and spent many summers and family get-togethers in Marshfield.

Claire enjoyed music, particularly the piano, and was fan of game shows in recent years. She accompanied her husband to many socials and activities with the Knights of Columbus, of which her husband was a member, and the couple were also active in St. Barbara’s Parish.

Along with her husband Thomas, she was preceded in death by her son Stephen and her brother, John Lacey.

Surviving are four sons: Paul of Virginia, Richard and his wife Donna of Billerica, Gerard of Boxborough, and Scott of Arlington, her brother, Paul Lacey of Panama City, Florida, and her beloved grandson, Richard Heffron of Billerica. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, August 4th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
