OBITUARY:

Alexandra (Kozlowski) Jury, a longtime resident of North Woburn, passed away Sunday, June 1st, after a brief illness at Beverly Hospital. The beloved wife of the late Frank H. Jury Jr., she was eighty-seven years of age. Born in Salem, Alice, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of the late John and Victoria Kozlowski. Raised in Peabody, she was a graduate of Peabody High School after which she attended Business School. After completing her education, Alice embarked on a career with General Electric in Lynn, “Riverworks”, which spanned over forty-five years. Her position as secretary to the CEO of GE, was the result of her dedication to her profession and her continuing educational efforts in the business field.

In 1958, Alice married her husband Frank and one year later they made their home in North Woburn. They both shared a love for boating which they enjoyed every weekend on the North Shore in Ipswich and Essex. Tragedy struck in 1962, with Frank’s unexpected passing and finding herself alone at an early age, Alice remained in her Woburn home and dedicated her life to her family and friends, her work and her lifelong passions. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Colonial Golf Club for over forty years and participated in General Electrics Golf League for many years. Alice formed many wonderful friendships throughout her life and she loved to share time with them, especially to play poker. She continued her love for boating and often took her nephew and later his family along. During the summer months, Alice would rent a camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. In addition, she also had a penchant for gardening and traveling and after retiring in 1989, she traveled to the West Coast and Hudson, Florida where she spent her winters.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Frank H. Jury Jr., and her brother-in-law, Robert F. Cote.

She is survived by her sister Josephine I. Cote of MN, her nephew, Ronald T. Cote and his wife Marie of Georgetown, his niece, Ruth A. Opish and her husband Titus of MN and her great nieces and nephew, Jade Cote, Jesse Cote, Meliisa Carberry, Justin Sweatt.
