OBITUARY:

Grace E.(Pierce) Ryan passed away early Monday morning, March 24th, at the Winchester Hospital. The beloved wife of the late Joseph Ryan, she was seventy-seven years old.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Grace (Connors) Pierce. In 1953 she married her dear late husband Joseph, to whom she was married for thirty-one years. Together they raised their eight children and made their home in Billerica on a vast fifty-three acres of land. There the entire family enjoyed horseback riding, and all the fun and excitement of outside play. Over the years Mrs Ryan loved to entertain and have family to their home. Celebrating all of the holidays together, she was an extremely good cook, often creating the most delicious meals from very little. Together over the years the family would often take family trips to Hampton Beach and Ossipee, New Hampshire, where they would join together with other relatives and friends for cookouts and fun in the sun.

Mrs. Ryan was very dedicated and devoted to her family. Her sense of humor, along with her very kind and gentle spirit, was admired by all who knew her. In later years she was the devoted companion of the late Norman Pinkham, with whom she shared many happy times traveling and dining together.

Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye and she spent many happy hours attending their athletic and academic performances, along with just spending time to talk.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ryan was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth and Fred (Chum).

She was the devoted mother of Joseph Jr. and his wife Kathy of Chelmsford, Stephen and his wife Marlene of Billerica, Daniel and his wife Diane of Manchester, NH, Timothy of SC, PaulRyan, Kathleen Fell and her husband Charles, and Brenda Corbett and her husband Kevin, all of Billerica, the dear sister of Walter and Meezie Pierce of West Palm Beach, FL, Robert Pierce of Lexington, Paul and Rita Pierce of Billerica, Mary Osborne of Lexington.
