Jean M. (MacDormand) Dango, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away quietly on Sunday morning at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. The beloved wife of the late Angelo “Mike” Dango, she was eighty-two years of age. Born in Boston, Jean was the daughter of the late Clarence and Olive (McLean) MacDormand. Her family resided in Hyde Park before moving to Burlington, where Jean attended school and graduated from Burlington High School. Following graduation, she worked for Boston Bank, a position she held for many years until her marriage in 1948. She and her husband “Mike” moved to Woburn and resided in the home that her husband and father built. The beautiful stonework on the front of the house was comprised of stones from all over the world. In addition to raising their two children, Jean worked at Sylvania for a few years and then Polaroid for twenty-five years before retiring. Jean’s family enjoyed many trips through the years, traveling to New York and the Mohawk Trail, visiting museums and attending plays and musicals. They also took great pleasure in walking around Horn Pond.

As a young mother, she volunteered at the First Congregational Church in Woburn. Additionally she loved to sew, knit and cook for her family. After their children were grown, Jean and Mike traveled extensively with their friends to Alaska, Hawaii, Italy and Spain.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Dango and her son Peter Dango, who passed away in 2006 and her brother Robert MacDormand.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Donna and her son-in-law, William, her daughter-in-law, Cindy Dango of Woburn, her grandchildren, Michael and Shirley Dango of Dracut, Kimberly Sawyer of IL, Bryan and Beth of Malden, Chad and Noble Farrow of NH and great grandchildren, Matthew Dango and Kieran Adare Farrow.
