OBITUARY:

Timothy W. Maher, 56, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away on Thursday, January 3rd, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marsha J. (Paris) Maher.

Born in Medford, he was the son of the late William J. and Irene C. (Moynihan) Maher. He was raised and educated in Woburn, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1969. He owned and operated the family store, Maher’s Market, which was located in West Somerville, for a number of years. When his children were born, he sold the business to care for them as his wife Marsha worked outside the home. He was dedicated and involved in every aspect of his children’s lives. He was a great cook and enjoyed playing pool as a pastime. Tim was also very proud of his Irish heritage.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Nicholas Grout.

Surviving along with his wife Marsha, to whom he was married for twenty-four years, are his daughter, Bridget Paris Maher and son, Patrick Timothy Maher, both of Woburn, a brother, Michael J. Maher and his wife Julie of Woburn, and two sisters, Kelly A. Maher of Woburn and Colleen M. Grout and her husband Jim of Westminster, Vermont. He was also the loving uncle of Michael, Brendan and Kevin Maher, and Corey Grout, and brother-in-law of Paul and Vincent Paris of Woburn.
