ROSE M. (OTTARIANO) COSTA – in Woburn, December 26th. Beloved wife of the late Frank J. Costa. Devoted mother of Carol Abrams and her husband Ben of Stoneham, Marion Halliday and her husband Skip of Dennis, Frank Costa, Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Woburn, and Leonard Costa and his wife JoAnne of Nashua, NH. Dear sister of Mary Tofuri of Winchester and the late Frank, Al, Val, Nicholas, and Molly Ottariano. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, December 31st at 8:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Calling hours Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Rose’s memory to St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801.

OBITUARY:

Rose M. Costa, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Wednesday, December 26th, at the age of eighty-seven. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Costa.

Born in Woburn, Rose was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Octavito) Ottariano. She attended Woburn schools, graduating from Woburn High School with the Class of 1938. She worked for the Woburn school system for many years as a chef, at the Kennedy Junior High, Woburn High School, and finally at the Shamrock Elementary School. She was a devout parishioner of St. Charles Church and a member of the South End Italian Club.

Rose loved traveling to Aruba, and enjoyed many trips there with her sister Mary. She was devoted to her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren, and loved the time she spent with them.

Along with her husband Frank, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Al, Val, and Nicholas Ottariano, and a sister, Molly Ottariano.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol Abrams and her husband Ben of Stoneham, and Marion Halliday and her husband Skip of Dennis, two sons, Frank Costa, Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Woburn, and Leonard Costa and his wife JoAnne of Nashua, NH. She also leaves her dear sister of Mary Tofuri of Winchester and the late Frank, Al, Val, Nicholas, and Molly Ottariano. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, December 31st at 8:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 9. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
