MARIE A. (O’HALLORAN) MELANSON – October 17th, in Woburn, 49 years of age, loving wife of Edward “Eddie” Melanson. Devoted daughter of Francis and Dorothy (Grace) O’Halloran. Dear sister of Diane S. Miller, Michael J., Thomas P., and Karen F. O’Halloran all of Woburn. Also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and grand nephew. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Monday, October 22nd, at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Marie’s memory the the Dana Faber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115.

OBITUARY:

Marie A. (O’Halloran) Melanson, beloved wife of Edward “Eddie” Melanson passed away Wednesday evening, October 17th, after succumbing to an eighteen month struggle with cancer. Mrs. Melanson was forty nine years old and the loving daughter of Francis and Dorothy (Grace) Holloran of Woburn.

Born in Somerville, she moved to Woburn at a very early age, was educated in the Woburn Schools having graduated from Woburn High, class of 1976. Following high school Marie began working at HH Scott Co as a secretary for a number of years, and it was here that she met the love of her life. She and Eddie were married in 1983 and together they have thoroughly enjoyed the last twenty four years together. They loved to travel and over the years have visited many different countries, states and islands, arriving by car, plane or ship. She loved the sports here in Boston and was an avid follower of the baseball and football. Often she could be found outside passing the football or baseball around with her nieces, nephews and husband. She had a keen interest for game shows , playing games, visiting Foxwoods, or any of the different Parks.

Marie was a very loving and kind woman. She enjoyed her family , her extended family, and loved sharing time with them all. Her sense of humor was contagious, and affection limitless.

In addition to her devoted husband and loving parents she is survived by her siblings, Diane S. Miller, Michael J., Thomas P., and Karen F. O’Halloran all of Woburn. Also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and grand nephew.   2. I was so very sorry to hear of Marie’s passing. I grew up w/Marie on Colonial Road and walked to Joyce Jr High with her everyday. Although we lost touch, I will always remember Marie with fond memories. My deepest sympathy to her husband and family.

  3. Diane I am so sorry to hear about Marie. God I see the picture and brings back huge memories. hang in there Diane. my condolences to you and your family. It’s never easy to lose a loved one, and don’t we know it.
