RHIANNON J. WORTHEN – in Woburn, suddenly, September 14th. Beloved infant daughter of Ian and Caroline (Thompson) Worthen of Woburn. Cherished maternal granddaughter of George and Margie (Ivey) Thompson of Woburn, formerly of Brighton, paternal granddaughter of Bonnie McCool of Woburn, and maternal great-granddaughter of George E. Thompson of Meredith, NH, formerly of Brighton. Dear niece of Jason, Ryan and Kevin Thompson, all of Woburn, Tina Worthen of WA, Eric Worthen of Methuen, and Kendra of Hyde Park. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, September 19th, at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations may be made in Rhiannon’s memory to the Massachusetts Center for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Boston Medical Center, 1 Boston Medical Center Place, Boston, MA 02118.

OBITUARY:

Rhiannon J. Worthen, the beloved infant daughter of Ian and Caroline (Thompson) Worthen of Woburn, died suddenly at her home early Friday morning, September 14th, as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Rhiannon was born at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on August 24th, 2007, and in her brief life gave so much joy to her family.

She was the cherished maternal granddaughter of George and Margie (Ivey) Thompson of Woburn, formerly of Brighton, the paternal granddaughter of Bonnie McCool of Woburn, and maternal great-granddaughter of George E. Thompson of Meredith, NH, formerly of Brighton. She was also the beloved niece of Jason, Ryan and Kevin Thompson, all of Woburn, Tina Worthen of WA, Eric Worthen of Methuen, and Kendra of Hyde Park.

Her funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, September 19th, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of the Angels in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Rhiannon’s memory to the Massachusetts Center for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Boston Medical Center, 1 Boston Medical Center Place, Boston, MA 02118.

  1. I just wanted to say I’m so sorry for this heart-breaking loss. I worked with Bonnie at Madico, and so even though I don’t know you, Ian, I was working with your Mom when she found out she was carrying you. I am so sad to hear this news.
