GERALD E. “GEE” SPENCER, JR. – Age 34, in Woburn, formerly of Cambridge, suddenly, September 1st. Beloved fiance of Heather Gonzales of Woburn. Devoted father of Marissa, Malana, and Mayleen Spencer, all of Woburn, and Donesha Paul of Maine. Dear brother of Jamilla Carlor of Sturbridge, William Spencer of Worcester, and the late Nicole Williams. Son of Gerald E. Spencer of Cambridge and the late Yvette (Williams) Spencer, and loving grandson of Wilhelmina Williams of Cambridge. Dear cousin/brother of Leon Williams of Brockton and the late Shaun Williams. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7th, at Union Baptist Church, 874 Main Street, Cambridge, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Gerald E. Spencer, Jr., 34, passed away on Saturday, September 1st, 2007 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston following a very brief illness. Gerald was surrounded by his daughters, his beloved life partner, Heather Gonzales, his family and friends.
Gerald was born in 1973 to Gerald E. Spencer of Cambridge and the late Yvette Janet Williams-Spencer. He was raised in Central and then West Cambridge by his aunts and his grandmother and second-mother, Wilhelmina Williams. He attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin.
Gerald, known as “Gee” to his family and friends, moved to Woburn in 1992 to be with Heather and raise their daughters. He loved anything that had to do with sports and music.
Most important to Gerald was his family and friends. Whenever he name is mentioned, they remember his beautiful smile which left everyone happy. He was always there to listen to people and help out in any way he could.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Nicole Williams, his brother/cousin Shaun Williams, and great-grandmother Meta Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved Heather Gonzales, his daughters Marissa, Malana, and Mayleen Spencer, and Donesha Paul.
Gerald is further survived by his grandmother, Wilhelmina Williams, aunts Annette and Cathy Williams, uncle Sonny Williams and his wife Karen, great-aunt Meta Williams and great-uncle, Rudy Williams, his cousin/brother Leon Williams, cousins Leon, Jr., Tiaja, Gordon Weeks, Derek Panessi, Tayla Williams, Cheryl Williams, Tony, Jr., Fallon, Dee Dee, Natashia, C.J., Trevor, Shana, Isaiah, Shani, Rudy, Jr., his godmother Renee Green, nieces Juliah, Alana, Halle, and nephews Dante and Aidan; Heather’s family, including his “mother-in-law” Nancy Gonzales, William and Jacob Gonzales, Tony and Vanessa Matias, Melissa and Robert Scanlon, Keith Burgess, Jr., Sleepy Shane, and many other close family and friends.
