OBITUARY:

Kyle J. Noonan of Woburn, 19, a 2006 graduate of Woburn High School, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 12th. He was the beloved son of Paula M. (Marashio) Noonan of Woburn and the late James H. Noonan.

Kyle was born in Winchester and lived all his life in Woburn. He attended St. Charles and the Goodyear Elementary schools, and the Kennedy Middle School, where he enjoyed playing soccer and baseball. He went on to graduate from Woburn High last year.

A happy, outgoing young man, he had the unique ability to light up a room when he walked in. He loved doing things for other people and, like his father Jimmy, who died six years ago, had a great passion for the outdoors. Always ready for an adventure, he loved heading to New Hampshire and Maine as often as he could. A favorite destination was North Conway, where he spent many happy hours snowboarding and camping. He was an avid skateboarder and loved listening to music.

His family and friends meant the world to him. Kyle liked nothing better than to spend time at home with his brothers, sister, and friends, just hanging out with everyone downstairs, talking, laughing, and playing pool. As long as they were together, this was all Kyle needed to be happy. Known for his infectious smile and happy outlook on life, he was lovingly known as “everyone’s little brother.”

In addition to his father, James Noonan, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia L. Marashio, and his paternal grandparents, Harry G. Noonan and Rita Leonard.

Surviving along with his mother, Paula Noonan, are two brothers, Seamus E. and Brian P. Noonan, his sister, Carly Noonan, and his niece, Kendra S. Noonan, all of Woburn. He was also the beloved grandson of Ed and Bea Marashio, and dear nephew of Nick and Patrice LaFauci, Pamela Marashio, Jimmy and Danita Ruszkowski, Christan Marashio, Ken and Judy Hicks, and Rick, Joey and Michael Mattogna. Also surviving are many, many loving cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, April 17th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Kyle’s memory in honor of his father, James Noonan, to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115.

  1. I only knew Kyle for a short time. I will always remember him as being a very polite, funny and overall great kid. His untimely passing is such a terrible loss. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

  2. Kyle was a good kid and a good friend. I hadn’t seen him in months, but it hit me like a sack of bricks anyways. Whenever I was with him, I always had a smile. Even when we would get yelled at in Carpentry, standing next to Kyle, it was VERY hard to wipe the smile off my face. My condolences are with you and your family. Sorry for your loss.

I remember Kyle and adored him the very moment I met him. His charm, smile and friendy personality embraced my heart.

I loved watching his curls grow and I will always remember how respectful he was to me each time I would tossle his hair and compliment how gorgeous he looked.

  13. Dear Noonan family,
We only knew Kyle for a short time but we feel as if we had known him for a lifetime. He was a friendly, polite young man. During the few hours that he spent at Shaw’s he managed to make several new friends. He even got a chance to sing with our Asst Checkout Manager, Stephanie. Stephanie was very upset that Kyle was hired to work in grocery because “he has the perfect personality for the Checkout”.
We are very sorry for your loss.
    Sincerely,
    Rena Jeffery and Shaw’s Management
