Pauline T. Mantwill, a native of Woburn who had made her home in Florida for many years, passed away peacefully in Woburn on Wednesday, February 28th following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of David A. Mantwill for the past thirty-six years.

Born in Woburn seventy-two years ago, she was the daughter of Annie E. (Roscillo) Verrecchia of Woburn and the late Angelo C. Verrecchia. She attended St. Charles Elementary School, graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1951, and studied business at Katherine Gibbs School. After working as a secretary early in her life, she later stayed home to raise her family.

A gifted musician and vocalist, Pauline taught piano lessons from her home in Woburn and was a choir member and soloist for St. Joseph’s Church for many years. She was often called upon to sing at weddings and funerals in the area.

In 1968 Pauline moved to Florida where she resided until coming back to live in Woburn in recent months. While in Florida, she met and married her husband Dave in 1970. Together they worked in their real estate sales and management businesses for many years. She continued to pursue her love of music throughout her life. She served as chairman of the South Florida Concert Choir and traveled extensively with that group. She was also a producer and director in Spirit Productions, Inc., a company owned by Pauline and her husband which was involved in church productions. In this capacity they traveled extensively throughout Florida and the United States. She was very active in St. Jude’s Church in Tequesta, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Pauline was a wonderful cook and loved flowers. She grew orchids at her home in Florida and enjoyed decorating as a hobby. Devoted to her family, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband David, she is survived by three sons: Mark Jude Ceglio of Stuart, FL, David B. Ceglio and his wife Jeanett of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Paul C. Ceglio Mantwill of Tequesta, FL, her mother, Annie Verrecchia of Woburn, a brother, Donald K. Verrecchia and his companion Vered Tsarfaty, both of Boston, and three sisters: Mary Anne Maguire and her husband William, Eleanor McComiskey and her husband Robert, and Patricia Joyce and her husband Kevin, all of Woburn.

She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Loretta Verrecchia of Winchester and Nancy Womer and her husband Charles of Jupiter, FL, her grandchildren, Anthony, Eliana, and Angelo Ceglio and Jhoan Parra, two aunts, Frances Norton of Woburn and Louise Roscillo & her husband Joseph, all of Woburn.

Pauline was also the beloved aunt of William & Michael Maguire, Lorraine Neal, Marie Hyland, Judith Carlson, Kerri Lynne Randall, Brian McComiskey, Kevin & Derek Joyce, Tracy Kazlauskas, Kristina Bernard, Bradford & Joel Verrecchia, Robert & Joseph Palmer, and their spouses.

    Hello David:
Although I’ve never met your mom, listening from you about how she dealt with her illness and seeing how you coped with the situation both showed the strength and courage of your family. I’m confident that with Lord’s guidance you will sail through this difficult period. I feel bad that I couldn’t do much to help. Take care and talk to you later.

Dear Ann, I am so sorry to hear of Pauline’s passing. I have such fond memories of you and Pauline. I remember Pauline and Guy singing their duets in the school plays.
I don’t know if you remember, but you made my wedding dress (just from a description of what I wanted). You also “dressed” my Mom and my wedding party.
I live in Seattle, but do keep in touch with the family.
I forwarded the obituary to my brother Guy in Florida.
Again, our condolences to you and Pauline’s family.
    Sincerely, Jo and Sam Simone
