OBITUARY:

Marie Conn of Billerica, a former Woburn resident, passed away unexpectredly on Wednesday, February 14th, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of twenty-six years of Daniel Conn.

Born and raised in North Quincy, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Toomey) McPartland. She graduated from North Quincy High School with the class of 1972 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. Following her graduation from college she went to work for Mass. Eye and Ear, and then for G.E. Labs. Most recently she was employed by Cisco Systems as a technical writer.

Following her marriage in 1980, Marie and her husband lived in Woburn for a short time before moving to Billerica, where they have made their home for the past twenty-four years.

Marie was very involved in Scottish country dancing and held membership in a group that danced throughout Massachusetts, particularly at events in Salem. She and her daughter participated together in their love of dancing, and shared many wonderful times. Marie also enjoyed kayaking on the Androscoggin Lake in Maine as well as hiking and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed flowers and, along with her husband Dan, grew perennials and annuals to decorate their home. Marie greatly enjoyed decorative painting with her “painting buddies.”

Along with her husband, she leaves a daughter, Theresa L. Conn of Billerica, and a brother, John McPartland, Jr. of Seekonk. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Judith Ann Conn of Florida, and parents-in-law, Daniel H. and Dorothy Q. Conn of Woburn.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, February 20th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
