“LUCY” YU-FEN (CHIANG) TENG – of Burlington, MA, February 2nd. Beloved wife of “Paul” Bung-Ning Teng. Dear sister of Yu-Sheng Chiang of Taiwan, Yu-Tone Chiang of NJ, and Yu-Hwa Chiang Hu and Feng-Kie Chiang Tang, both of Taipei. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 1:30 p.m. at the Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston, 149 Old Spring Street, Lexington (www.cbcgb.org). Relatives and friends may call at the church from 1 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the service. Interment is private. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Arrangements are by the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

“Lucy” Yu-Fen (Chiang) Teng of Burlington, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, February 2nd at Winchester Hospital after an illness of several months. The beloved wife of “Paul” Bung-Ning Teng, she was sixty-six years of age.

Born in China, she was the daughter of the late Kuang-Yun Chiang and Ming-Tsieng Lee. After completing her college education in China, she came to the United States in 1967 to study at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where she was awarded a Master’s Degree in Chemistry. She continued her education further at Boston University, earning a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

She worked for DuPont after completing her studies, and after moving back to Boston in 1973, worked as a scientist at Beth Israel Hospital. In recent years she had worked in the laboratories at Harvard University as a chemist.

“Lucy” was a member of the Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston, where she taught Sunday school, and she also taught Chinese as a second language to students in the church’s Chinese language school.

She is survived by her husband, “Paul” Bung-Ning Teng, and was the sister of Yu-Sheng Chiang of Taiwan, Yu-Tone Chiang of NJ, and Yu-Hwa Chiang Hu and Feng-Kie Chiang Tang, both of Taipei. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
