WILLIAM F. GODFREY, JR. – age 52, in Woburn, suddenly, December 12th. Beloved husband of Laurinda A. (Murphy) Godfrey. Devoted father of Lindsey of Methuen, Erin of Marblehead, and Meghan of Saugus. Loving son of Barbara (Barker) Godfrey of Charlestown and the late William F. Godfrey, Sr. Dear brother of Carol Clooney of Quincy, Brian of Salem, NH, Paul of Wilmington, Jimmy of ND, Barbara Hirtle of Rowley, and the late Robert Godfrey. Loving grandfather of Taylor and Olivia. Dear son-in-law of Carol (Maher) Murphy of Woburn and the late Donald Murphy, and brother-in-law of Denis, Nancy, and Gregg Murphy and Dawn Kerns, all of Woburn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, December 18th at 10:15 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Calling hours Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private. OBITUARY:

William F. “Bill” Godfrey, Jr., 52, died suddenly Tuesday evening, December 12th, after having been stricken at his home. He was the husband of Laurinda (Murphy) Godfrey for nearly nine years.

Bill was born and raised in the Union Street area of Charlestown, the son of Barbara (Barker) Godfrey of Charlestown and the late William F. Godfrey, Sr. A former member of the “Bunker Hillbillies” from the Boys Club in Charlestown, he graduated from Charlestown High with the class of 1972.

Bill was employed in inside sales for various electrical supply houses over the years.

For over twenty-seven years he had made his home in Woburn. He enjoyed quiet time at home with his family, and especially loved playing the guitar and visiting the North Conway area. He loved camping and being outdoors with his family and friends.

In addition to his father, William F. Godfrey, Sr., he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Along with his wife Laurinda and his mother, Barbara (Barker) Godfrey of Charlestown, he leaves three daughters, Lindsey of Methuen, Erin of Marblehead, and Meghan of Saugus, five brothers and sisters: Carol Clooney of Quincy, Brian of Salem, NH, Paul of Wilmington, Jimmy of ND, and Barbara Hirtle of Rowley, and his beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Olivia.

He was also the dear son-in-law of Carol (Maher) Murphy of Woburn and the late Donald Murphy, and brother-in-law of Denis, Nancy, and Gregg Murphy and Dawn Kerns, all of Woburn. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, December 18th at 10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Interment will be private.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
