PAUL C. “PRO” COSTELLO- in Woburn, Friday, October 6th, beloved husband of Nancy (McNulty) Costello. Devoted father of Patricia A. Donaghey and her companion Dennis Harris, Paula L. Aston and her husband Mark, Pamela J. Vidito and her husband Richard, Suzanne Costello and her companion Michael Dabrieo and Paul M. Costello, all of Woburn. Dear brother of Mary Thorne of Tewksbury and the late Harold, William, John “Warren” and Robert Costello. Loving grandfather of Jessica, Matthew and Thomas Donaghey, Elyssa and Stephanie Vidito, Brittany Aston and great grandson Jared Donaghey. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Tuesday, October 10th at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

OBITUARY:

Paul C. “Pro??? Costello, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away Friday morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center. The beloved husband of Nancy (McNulty) Costello, he was seventy-four years of age. Born in Woburn, Paul was the son of the late Michael and Mary (McGilvary) Costello. He was raised in Winchester where he was a graduate of Winchester High School. A talented athlete, Paul excelled in ice hockey and baseball . His athletic abilities earned him the moniker “Pro???. Immediately after completing his education, he entered the United States Army during the Korean War and continued to serve until 1961 in an administrative position at Fort Dix, NJ. Following his military service, Paul was employed as a Manager in the Hardware retail business until his retirement in 1989.

In February of 1958, Paul married his wife Nancy, moved to Woburn and together they raised five children. During the summer months while the children were young the family would spend their summer vacations at Hampton Beach . During his years in Woburn, Paul also took a great interest in the City’s activities.

Paul was a longtime Bruins fan and season ticket holder for a number of years. He also enjoyed bowling for a good number of years. In addition he was a lifetime member of the Woburn Elks and Towanda Club.

Paul was predeceased by his brothers Harold, William, John “Warren??? and Robert Costello.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (McNulty), his children, Patricia A. Donaghey and her companion Dennis Harris, Paula L. Aston and her husband Mark, Pamela J. Vidito and her husband Richard, Suzanne Costello and her companion Michael Dabrieo and Paul M. Costello, all of Woburn, his sister, Mary Thorne of Tewksbury, his grandchildren Jessica, Matthew and Thomas Donaghey, Elyssa and Stephanie Vidito, Brittany Aston, his great grandson Jared Donaghey and many loving nieces and nephews.   1. Grampy I love you so much. I wiil never forget you. I am goin to miss you watchin t.v. so loud that we could hear it evey where we went in the house. I hope your happy up in heaven and that you are lookin down at the family from time to time. Love you so much and Happy late birthday too. =(
