AMANDA “MANDY” (FRANKLIN) CRONIN – in Woburn, unexpectedly at Winchester Hospital on Friday, September 22nd. Devoted mother of Nichole M. Cronin of Burlington, Alexis A. Anthony of Woburn, Nila K. Cronin of Burlington and Paul F. Cronin III of Haverhill. Cherished daughter of the late Charles C. and Mildred L. (Heath) Franklin and stepmother Dorothy Franklin of TN. Dear sister of Sue Franklin of Woburn, Gregory E. and Charles C. Franklin, both of GA. Loving grandmother of Siarra, Makenna, Jayden, Jacob and Jayinna and the late Summer. Loving aunt of Jennifer A. Camerlengo of Woburn. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church, 3 Winn Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, September 27th at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mary Bettencourt officiating. Calling hours will be held at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment is private.

OBITUARY:

Amanda “Mandy” (Franklin) Cronin, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly at Winchester Hospital on Friday afternoon, September 22nd. The beloved daughter of the late Charles C. and Mildred L. (Heath) Franklin and stepmother Dorothy Franklin of TN, she was fifty-one years of age.

Born in San Diego, California, Mandy, as she was affectionately known, was raised in Blue Ridge, Georgia, until the age of sixteen, when her family relocated to North Woburn. Mandy was a graduate of Woburn High School Class of ’72.

A high-spirited and energetic woman, Mandy was a devoted mother of four children who excelled at caring for her home and family. Mechanically inclined, she was able to handle most repairs in and around their home. Mandy was also an excellent cook and delighted everyone with her favorite southern fried chicken recipe from Georgia and her pasta with clams. Mandy also made dolls and clothing for her children and grandchildren.

In addition to raising her children, she worked as a lab technician for Arthur D. Little and more recently was a chef at a rehabilitation center. She was also a member of the American Legion Post in Woburn.

Mandy had a gregarious personality and was loved by all those who knew her. She was a loving daughter and sister, a devoted mother and a cherished grandmother, aunt and friend.

Mandy was predeceased by her parents, Charles C. and Mildred L. (Heath) Franklin and her granddaughter, Summer.

She is survived by her children, Nichole M. Cronin of Burlington, Alexis A. Anthony of Woburn, Nila K. Cronin of Burlington and Paul F. Cronin III of Haverhill, her stepmother, Dorothy Franklin of TN, her siblings, Sue Franklin of Woburn, Gregory E. and Charles C. Franklin, both of GA, her grandchildren, Siarra, Makenna, Jayden, Jacob and Jayinna, and her niece, Jennifer A. Camerlengo of Woburn.

    I am so sorry to hear of Mandy’s
    passing. I loved her as a friend and found her so full of life. She was a good person who cared for others.I remember the little girl from Georgia that used to visit in summer before her family moved here.She was my favorite girl back then.We were so young.I will keep her in my prayers.I wish you all the happiness she would want for you.
